TEAM OC is excited to announce our first ever guest for the TEAM OC COLLEGE COACH DAY: DEVON WILLS! Devon is the goalie for the USA Team and a graduate of Dartmouth College. June 1 marks her first day as an Assistant Coach at USC!
Wills will join an amazing staff at USC, joining her USA teammate + new Head Coach, Lindsey Munday as well as Hilary Bowen, a former Northwestern offensive superstar. Devon is psyched to be a Trojan: “It's an incredible place. I walked on campus and felt like I was a part of a small family and community. The athletics are world renowned and have a tradition of success.”
We are excited for Devon and super psyched to have her spend her first full weekend in Southern California (she JUST moved here!!!) with over 120 TEAM OC members at our 1st ever COLLEGE COACH DAY!
The COLLEGE COACH DAY will be held from 12 – 5pm @ Aliso Niguel High School. Members can expect to endure a fast-paced, high energy, super fun day of lacrosse guided by Devon and our awesome TEAM OC staff. According to Devon: “We are going to cover a variety of skills on Sunday! A lot of these drills are done daily or weekly at the college level and are a great way to perfect the basics and then to progress into the bigger scale and faster pace aspects of the game.”
As TEAM OC STAFF as well as our MEMBERS are “learning on the job”, Devon has designd the entire day to help both units get the most of her experience and expertise in the game. Her advice to all is to “keep an open mind - even if it isn't the position you are used to playing, or skills you are used to focusing on - remember that you can always work to get better!”
This is a great opportunity for players in SoCal to get top of the line instruction from such an accomplished player + coach. We couldn’t be more excited to have Devon work with our TEAM OC members! Devon is getting pumped for the weekend as well, ready to publicly promote the USC program and work with our local talent. “I am really excited to get to work with Team OC - hopefully USC + TEAM OC can further work to build the presence of strong lacrosse in SoCal! I’m very much looking forward to Sunday!”
